The Aberystwyth Fairtrade group was setup in 2004 to increase the awareness of and support for Fairtrade in the town.  For some time, it has been meeting as a core group of 4 to 6 members.  At the AGM in 2015, the meeting failed to appoint the required committee for 2015/6.  It was with great regret that at the final group meeting in November a motion was passed to dissolve the group. Former town group members will continue to be involved in informal action to promote Fairtrade in the town through activities during Fairtrade Fortnight.

In line with a commitment made in 2003 by the Town Council to support and promote Fairtrade, the present Town Council has agreed to undertake the tasks linked to the renewal of Fairtrade town status.  From now on, any enquiries from this web site will be routed to the Town Council.
